Rivers are moving more goods than before. But why aren’t they making a splash yet?

India holds one of the world’s richest inland waterway networks, but they account for less than 2% of cargo movement in the country. While an infrastructure push has sparked an uptrend in cargo movement on waterways, much remains to be done to win over private players and make rivers the preferred route for freight.
