India has world’s fourth-largest rail network, but its freight loves the highways

Around 70% of the goods transportation in India prefers road over rail because of its door-to-door service, reliability and consistently improving highway infrastructure. For an economy of the size of India, which is aiming to reduce high logistics costs and cut carbon emissions, that is not good news.
