IT’s in a slump, but non-tech companies happy to hire top talent

Non-tech companies, especially global manufacturing firms, are hiring software professionals to boost their research and development programs in India. The demand for tech talent has increased by almost three times across non-tech sectors due to digitisation efforts, according to staffing firms. Multinational manufacturing firms are also creating research and development centres in India to absorb lateral talent. Specialised manufacturing R&T and R&D recruitment could offer salary hikes of up to 50-60% for mid-level engineers. Recruiters now have the opportunity to upgrade human resource policies to match the pay scales offered by software companies.
