China’s economy is seeing a rebound. But the road to recovery may be uneven.

While the pace of business activity has picked up, the wave of infections has waned, and there’s growing optimism over China’s economic outlook, China’s recovery is uneven. The rebound in services sector is still below pre-pandemic levels. New car purchases are down from a year-earlier surge, when consumers rushed to take advantage of subsidies, and the housing market remains depressed.
