There are many cracks in the UK economy that Sunak needs to fix. Slow growth is just one of them.

Even as growth slows sharply, inflation is at a 40-year high, gross debt-to-GDP ratio stands at more than 100%, and corporate investment rate is the lowest among the developed countries. Clearly Rishi Sunak has a rough road ahead. However, a well-capitalised financial sector is UK's key strength and any fall in global commodity prices could come as a silver lining.
